British pro-blogger Darren Rowse approaches blogging with the same determination as any fitness regime, emphasizing the importance of routine and support:
1) Don’t leave blogging under a random impulse or a chance. Put a blogging plan in place, create a strategy.
2) Create a weekly schedule. Designate specific tasks for specific days of the week. Stick with the routine.
3) Don’t be alone. Be social. Team up with a social media mentor or a friend. Create a sense of accountability.
Rowse reminds of the cumulative effect: “More I posted, more readers I would get. More I would use the blog, the more successful it [the blog] would get.” Interaria would like to also add that it is important to think why many exercise routines fail. The common reasons are that they are unrealistic or lack elements of inspiration. As much as routine is important, it is also important to be ready to change things up and adjust the regime when blogging starts feeling like a chore.
